The majority of fertility programs follow a one-size-fits-all model. They rely heavily on timing and intervention, but skip over the cellular and systemic health issues that are often the root cause of infertility.

This is critical, because when foundational health is compromised, even the best-timed or most advanced procedure may have no chance of succeeding.

The Role of Egg and Sperm Quality

Here’s what many don’t realize: 

It takes between 90 and 120 days for both eggs and sperm to fully mature. 

That means that the quality of reproductive cells is shaped long before ovulation or retrieval.

And the single most important driver of that quality? Mitochondria.

Mitochondria are the energy centers of our cells. They fuel the development of both eggs and sperm. If mitochondrial health is poor, eggs may not mature properly, and sperm may lack the motility or integrity needed to fertilize.

Research has shown that mitochondrial dysfunction plays a direct role in poor embryo development and fertility outcomes.

Studies have also linked DNA damage in sperm to low levels of folate and B12, alongside elevated homocysteine, markers which are rarely tested in conventional care.

When egg and sperm quality are compromised, the chances of fertilization, implantation, and full-term pregnancy all decline significantly.

Inflammation: The Fertility Disruptor No One Talks About

Inflammation is the body’s natural response to injury or threat. 

But you might not know that even low-grade inflammation can silently interfere with every stage of reproduction.
